tracy invites public to participate in police chief RECRUITMENT process
Survey to be posted, Community Forums to be held June 14th and 15th
Tracy, Calif. – The City of Tracy is inviting the public to participate in an online survey and Community Forums to discuss the desired qualifications and characteristics of the next Tracy Police Chief. The first Community Forum will be held on Friday, June 14 at 7 PM in the Council Chambers, located on the first floor of Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza. The second meeting will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 10 AM in the Kimball High School Auditorium, located at 3200 Jaguar Run in Tracy. Teri Black & Company is the recruiting firm conducting the nationwide search for our next Police Chief and will be facilitating the Community Forums to engage our residents and business owners in a dialogue about public safety issues and the Police Chief recruitment.
Community members are also encouraged to complete an online survey that will be available online June 14-28. The survey will be available in both English and Spanish on the City’s website: www.cityoftracy.org. The goal of the survey and these Community Forums is to provide multiple ways for the members of our Tracy community to interact directly with those leading recruitment efforts and provide input on the ideal candidate characteristics for our next Chief of Police.
“The selection of a Police Chief is one of the most important decisions for our community,” said City Manager Jenny Haruyama. “Providing a forum to discuss the qualities of the next leader of Tracy Police Department gives the people we serve a voice in the recruitment process and ensures we continue to have an inclusive and responsive public safety system.”
Teri Black & Company will integrate the community feedback received from the Community Forums and completed surveys into the recruitment process, using the desired character qualities to inform the ideal Police Chief candidate profile. Please join us at one of the upcoming meetings, complete the survey and share this information with your neighbors. We look forward to hearing from you!

We invite you to come for a visit, open your business, and settle down to raise a family in Tracy. Take a look “Inside
