City of Tracy Appoints New Public Information Officer

Tracy, Calif. –The City of Tracy welcomes our new Public Information Officer, Carissa Higginbotham.  Carissa has fifteen years of public sector administration experience.  She worked for eleven years with the City of Ceres in various roles, including supporting the Acting City Manager and as the Executive Assistant and Public Information Officer for the Ceres Police Department and Ceres Fire Department.  Carissa spent the last four years with the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District as the Clerk of the Board and Deputy Public Information Officer.

 
Prior to that, she spent two years working as a Communications Assistant/Relay Operator for the California Relay Service.  Her relevant training/certifications include POST Media Relations for Law Enforcement, Certified Nixle User, POST Certified Records, CPOA Public Records Act, California State Fire Training ICS-400 Emergency - Operations Center and CSDA Board Secretary/Clerk certificate.  Carissa has a BA degree in Social Science with concentrations in psychology, sociology and organizational leadership, an AA in Behavioral Science and an AA in General Studies – Emphasis in Humanities.
 
Carissa grew up in Turlock and she enjoys the beach, concerts, reading, yoga, and stand-up paddle boarding.
