Tracy’s Regional Advantage Reflects Core Theme of 2016 State of the City Address

Renowned Economist, Dr. Jeffrey Michael, to Deliver Keynote Message

Posted: Feb 10, 2016
Location: Tracy, Calif.

The City of Tracy, in partnership with the Tracy Chamber of Commerce, is proud to present the Annual State of the City Address on Thursday, March 17th from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts located at 715 Central Avenue in Downtown Tracy.

This year’s theme, “Active. Innovative. Connected. The Tracy Advantage,” reflects the City’s identity as a thriving socio-economic hub within the developing Northern California “Mega-Region,” which includes the Northern San Joaquin Valley and the Greater Bay and Sacramento Areas. Tracy Mayor, Michael Maciel, will deliver the opening address, which will highlight the City’s accomplishments in 2015, as well as the vision for the Tracy community.

“I’m really excited to emphasize Tracy’s key leadership role in the San Joaquin Valley Region,” stated Tracy Mayor, Michael Maciel. “I think it’s important to highlight all of the great things Tracy is doing and how it’s creating a ripple effect regionally.”

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Jeffrey Michael, Director of the Center for Business and Policy Research at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Dr. Michael’s presentation will focus on the current economic landscape of the Northern San Joaquin Valley; Tracy’s position as an economic driver within the region (including its growing ties to the Greater Bay and Sacramento Areas), and opportunities for inter-regional collaborations to support social and economic systems.

Tickets to the State of the City are $25. Interested individuals may purchase tickets on-line at www.atthegrand.org  or at the Theatre Box Office and Tracy Chamber of Commerce office. Doors open at 9 a.m. for a breakfast bar and networking opportunities. This event is geared toward the local and regional business community; however, the general public is welcome to attend. For more information and tickets, please call the Tracy Chamber at (209) 835-2131.
