Building Inspections
Building Inspections
The City of Tracy inspects all buildings, structures, and systems under construction or undergoing repair and alteration at the intervals prescribed by the California Code of Regulations. Listed below is a guide to inspections required for most buildings. If you have any questions about required inspections, please contact our office. All inspections are performed based upon the codes in effect at the time of permit application and the approved plans. If you are making a change in the approved plans, the change must be approved prior to requesting inspections.
- Instructions for scheduling inspections through eTRAKiT can be found in the Inspection Scheduling Guide.
- You will be given the available dates to select from. We will not be able to guarantee specific times, but requests can be made for either morning (AM) or afternoon (PM).
- It is important that the work be ready for inspection when called and that which is not ready will have to be recalled for a subsequent inspection. Repeated requests for inspections of work that is not ready may result in re-inspection fees.
- All approved plans and inspection records must be on the job site at the time of inspection.
- It is important that the work is reviewed by the job site management to ensure it complies with approved plans and code requirements. Your efforts will assist the City in providing good and efficient service with the resources available.
COVID-19 Inspection Procedures
