PG&E Upgrading Natural Gas Pipes in Tracy

PG&E Contractor to Complete Repaving on Grant Line Road

Posted: May 18, 2015
Location: Tracy, Calif.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will begin the final phase of pavement restoration in north Tracy following the completion of a pipeline upgrade project in the area. Work is expected to start after June 1 and take approximately four weeks to be completed, weather permitting.

“The completion of this pipeline upgrade will enhance the safety and reliability of our natural gas system. We understand that our work has impacts to our customers and we appreciate their understanding as we complete this work,” said Nick Glero, manager of PG&E’s Stockton Division.

The repaving work will take place along Grant Line Road between Holly Drive and North MacArthur Drive. PG&E recently completed the upgrading of more than 4,000 feet of distribution pipeline in the area as part of PG&E’s Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP), created at the direction of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), with the goal of enhancing safety and improving operations.

Traffic impacts of the project will be moderate as the work will cause detours and short delays. Proper warning signs and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. Work will generally take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
