Bike to Work Week

Posted: May 7, 2015

(TRACY, CA) - The City of Tracy is preparing to participate in one of the largest events of its kind in the Country--Bike to Work Week, May 11-15, 2015. This exciting and fun event promotes cycling as a form of transportation to the workplace. It celebrates those who bicycle commute throughout the year, and supports an environmentally friendly transportation option and promotes clean air.
The City of Tracy is encouraging its employees as well as Tracy residents to ride their bikes to work the week of May 11th in an effort to promote an alternative form of transportation. The City will host a Bike to Work event on Tuesday, May 12th, 2015 from 7:00am to 9:00am at the Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza. The event is hosted by San Joaquin County Commute Connection in conjunction with their sponsors, the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, Frito Lay and Diamond Foods Inc. This event is open to everyone who is willing to walk or bike to work that day.
Those who pledge to either ride their bike or walk to work at least one day during that week will be eligible for a raffle to win $500 to your favorite local bike shop. The City encourages the community to show support for environmentally friendly transportation by stopping by the event for some light refreshments, giveaways, and a chance to enter the raffle for some great prizes.
