City Offices To Close During Furlough Days
Posted: Jun 5, 2009(TRACY, CA) – In order to address its structural budget deficit and reduce expenditures, beginning July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, the City has implemented unpaid furloughs as one of its cost reduction initiatives.
As such, City of Tracy employees will be participating in the furlough program. On specified furlough days, the following City offices will be closed, i.e.: City Hall (which includes the City Manager’s Office, Finance, Development and Engineering Services, and Human Resources), Public Works/Boyd Service Center, and Parks & Community Services. Exceptions include the public safety and any 24/7 operations, i.e.: police services, fire services, and water and wastewater treatment plant operations. During the furloughs, cost-reductions will be achieved through a decrease in assigned personnel, energy, and fuel expenditures. Nonetheless, the City would like to assure the community of Tracy that required levels of service will be maintained.
The specific furlough days in which most City offices will be closed are:
Monday, July 6, 2009
Friday, August 7, 2009
Friday, September 4, 2009
Friday, October 2, 2009
Friday, March 5, 2010
Friday, April 2, 2010
Friday, May 14, 2010
Friday, June 11, 2010
Information regarding furlough days will be posted at city-owned facilities, featured on Channel 26, and incorporated into utility bill mailings.
