Posted: Sep 18, 2012
Location: Tracy Municipal Airport - 5749 S. Tracy Blvd.

September 17, 2012

(Tracy, CA)-On Saturday, September 22nd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the City of Tracy in partnership with San Joaquin County is offering a free Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event.

The event will be held at the Tracy Municipal Airport, 5749 South Tracy Blvd.  This event provides San Joaquin County residents an opportunity to dispose of household hazardous waste in and around their homes, as well as unwanted electronics (E-Waste) and universal waste (U-Waste).

HHW products are usually marked with caution/warning labels and contain hazardous chemicals that may be toxic, flammable, corrosive or reactive.  It is illegal to dispose of these items in the garbage, down drains, or onto the ground because they contain dangerous materials that threaten human health and the environment.

In addition to HHW, it is also illegal for consumers to dispose of unwanted electronics and universal waste in the garbage.  Typical E-Waste and U-Waste items found in households may contain toxic or corrosive materials which can also pose a threat to the environment and our health.  These items will also be collected FREE of charge.

Acceptable HHW items:

  ·   Pesticide & Garden Products
