Invitation for Bids Energy Efficient Street Light Conversions

THURSDAY, MARCH 15, 2012 @ 2:00 PM
The Project is more specifically defined in the Contract Documents, but generally includes the following work to be done: Conversion of City of Tracy owned existing High Pressure Sodium (HPS) streetlights within Public right-of-ways with LED luminaires. The new LED Luminaires will replace the existing luminaires as more specifically defined in the specifications. Generally the existing luminaires fixtures are mounted on the mast arm of the streetlight poles. The scope of work of this project involves removal and disposal of the existing luminaires fixtures and replacement with new LED luminaire fixtures with equal or greater lux including all appurtenances to complete and provide the city with functional turnkey operational system. The scope of work of this project is limited to the cobra head and mast arm mounted streetlights and does not include removal and replacement of existing decorative lights in the downtown area, Eleventh Street west of Corral Hollow Road and City owned parking lots. The bidder after coordinating with PG&E must submit with the bid a onetime rebate amount from PG&E for the conversion of existing street lights with the proposal type of LED lights by the contractor. The city will independently verify this rebate amount with PG&E before award of this contract. A life cycle cost saving analysis will also be prepared by the bidder for the proposed LED lights and must be submitted by the bidder along with the bid proposal. The Engineer’s estimate will not be released until the bids are publicly opened.
A Class A, General Engineering or a C-10 Electrical Contractor’s License is required for this work.
