Press Release

MACARTHUR DRIVE, BETWEEN CANAL BOULEVARD & ARBOR AVENUE TO BE CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC FOR TRACY EFFLUENT PIPELINE PROJECT

Detours will be in place and access to private properties and local businesses will be provided during construction from March 15 through March 26

Posted: Mar 11, 2021
Location: Tracy, Ca

A section of MacArthur Drive, between Canal Boulevard and Arbor Avenue, will be closed to through traffic from March 15 through March 26, 2021 (subject to no unforeseen conditions or delays) for the installation of a new pipeline as part of the City’s Effluent Outfall Pipeline Project. Detours will be in place to assist with traffic circulation in the area, and access will remain to private properties and businesses in the area (please see map below).

This project involves the installation of a new 42-inch effluent pipeline from the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Old River. This new pipeline will replace the existing 33-inch deteriorated asbestos cement effluent pipeline. To minimize the impacts to our community, construction is being completed on a street segment-by-segment basis to avoid cumulative delays and longer detours.  Additional updates, media releases and notifications will be provided to the public on future road closures for this project along MacArthur Drive and on Delta Avenue.

What to Expect

During construction, public safety remains a top priority. MacArthur Drive will be closed between Arbor and Canal Roads, with roadway access provided from the intersection of Canal Road and MacArthur Road. Access to private properties and businesses on Delta Avenue and MacArthur Drive, north of Arbor Avenue, will be maintained through detours along Arbor Avenue and Canal Boulevard during construction. Residents, businesses and the traveling public should anticipate delays during construction, plan trips accordingly and follow the detours for traffic circulation.  We appreciate your patience as we work quickly and safely to make these community improvements.
