The annual Memorial Day event hosted by the James McDemott American Legion Post 172 will occur as a virtual event, in accordance with the State of California and San Joaquin County Public Health guidance.  The community should expect the annual 4th of July event hosted by the Tracy Chamber of Commerce to look much different this year, as staff and the Chamber are in the process of finalizing the details with guidance from our local health officials.  Stay tuned for more information on both events.

The community is encouraged to continue using our parks, trails and open spaces for “passive recreation” such as walking, jogging, bicycling, skateboarding, etc.  Users of our City parks for passive recreation are encouraged to:

  • Use the restroom before leaving the house – all public park restrooms will be closed
  • Carry your own water bottle, as water fountains at the parks are temporarily unavailable
  • Bring a suitable trash bag or leave your trash at home to protect other park users and parks staff
  • Follow CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene before heading to parks and trails – wash your hands and carry hand sanitizer
  • Keep six feet from other people as you walk, bike, or hike, skateboard, etc.
  • Warn other trail users of your presence as you pass

What to do:

We encourage all residents to stay informed by regularly checking the following websites and their social media accounts for the latest information, tips and guidance:

The City of Tracy’s top priority continues to be the health, safety and well-being of all our participants, visitors, facility users, staff, and instructors. We understand this decision may cause hardship for some guests and families, but we must follow the orders of health officials and do our part to ensure the safety of our community.
