Designated Truck Routes

The City of Tracy Police Department welcomes all commercial truck operators, long haul and local drivers, to Tracy. To ensure safety and to assist you in driving in the city we are providing this page to familiarize you with local ordinances and a truck route map to navigate through city streets.

Tracy is the most rapidly growing city in San Joaquin County, and traffic in the community has increased proportionately. Your safety, and that of Tracy's citizens, is important to us.

Parking Locations

For your convenience, overnight parking facilities are available at the following locations:

In Tracy

  • Tracy Truck and Auto Stop: 3940 North Tracy Boulevard, Tracy, CA.

Outside Tracy

  • City of Manteca: Moffat Boulevard from Garfield to Powers–Posted City Lot (no campers).
  • Flying J Travel Plaza: 1501 North Jack Tone Road, Ripon, CA.

3.08.300 Truck Route Restrictions

When any such truck traffic routes are established and designated by appropriate signs, the operator of any vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of five (5) tons or more, licensed commercially as a truck in the state of origin, and used for carrying goods for pickup and delivery shall drive only on such streets, except when necessary for egress and ingress by direct route to and from restricted streets for the purpose of loading or unloading. The provisions of this section shall not apply to passenger buses under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission. (Ord. 1068 º 2, 2004)

3.08.310 Designated Truck Routes

In accordance with the provisions of section 3.08.290 of this article, the following streets are hereby declared to be truck traffic routes for the movement of all vehicles on a temporary or permanent basis as follows:

Through Truck Traffic Routes:
  1. Arbor Road (MacArthur Drive to Holly Drive);
  2. Byron Road (west City limits to Lammers Road);
  3. Corral Hollow Road (Larch Road to Grant Line Road);
  4. Corral Hollow Road (Linne Road to I-580);
  5. Chrisman Road (North of Valpico Road portion of Chrisman Road within City limits);
  6. Eleventh Street (Lammers Road to the west City limits);
  7. Eleventh Street (MacArthur Drive to east City limits);
  8. Grant Line Road (West City limits to Corral Hollow Road);
  9. Grant Line Road (MacArthur Drive to East City limits);
  10. Holly Drive (Arbor Road to Larch Road);
  11. Lammers Road (Byron Road to Eleventh Street);
  12. Larch Road (Holly Drive to Corral Hollow Road);
  13. Linne Road (East City limits to West City limits);
  14. MacArthur Drive (Arbor Road to Eleventh Street);
  15. Tracy Boulevard (Larch Road to I-205);
  16. Tracy Boulevard (Linne Road to South City limits).
Local Truck Traffic Routes:
  1. Eleventh Street (Lammers Road to Tracy Boulevard);
  2. Eleventh Street (north leg MacArthur Drive to south leg MacArthur Drive);
  3. Lammers Road (Eleventh Street to 0.5 miles south of Eleventh Street) City portion;
  4. MacArthur Drive (Eleventh Street to Sixth Street);
  5. MacArthur Drive (Valpico Road to Mount Diablo Avenue);
  6. Sixth Street (MacArthur Drive to Central Avenue);
  7. Tracy Boulevard (Linne Road to Valpico Road);
  8. Valpico Road (Tracy Boulevard to MacArthur Drive).
Temporary Truck Traffic Routes:
  1. MacArthur Drive (Mount Diablo Avenue to Sixth Street. This will be replaced by the MacArthur Drive Extension from Mount Diablo Avenue to Eleventh Street connecting at the overpass).
Future Truck Traffic Routes:
  1. MacArthur Drive (Mount Diablo Avenue to Eleventh Street connecting at the overpass). This will replace the temporary truck traffic route from Mount Diablo Avenue to Sixth Street as a local truck traffic route. (Ord. 1068 º 3, 2004)
