Regranting Program

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
On behalf of the City of Tracy, the Tracy Arts Commission welcomes applications for the Arts Re-Granting Program for Tracy based arts organizations, individual artists and arts educators who present and produce arts projects in Tracy.

PROGRAM PURPOSE
The purpose of the Arts Re-Granting program is to:
  • Strengthen Tracy’s arts resources
  • Support collaborative programs
  • Educate people about the arts
  • Serve a diverse audience
  • Provide more arts events to the public (performances, exhibits, classes, etc.)

WHAT WE FUND
All applicants must propose a grant project that includes public events and/or activities in Tracy. Project events/activities might include: performances, exhibits, classes, workshops, festivals, screenings and readings. Project events/activities must take place between July 1 and June 30 of the year in which the grant is awarded.

GRANT AMOUNTS
There is approximately $6,000 available for granting annually.
Grant awards are typically average of $1,000, but applicants may request any amount.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

WHO MAY APPLY:

Tracy resident arts organizations, individual artists and arts educators are eligible to apply. All artistic disciplines are eligible: music, dance, theatre, visual and literary arts, including mainstream, contemporary and ethnic art forms.
In collaborative proposals, please designate the “lead” agency. This is the organization that serves as the fiscal agent for the project and will receive the funding.

RESIDENCY IS DEFINED AS:
Serving a Tracy audience and having a business office or primary venue in Tracy.

NOT ELIGIBLE LIST:

  • Non-residents (see residency definitions above)
  • Businesses that are established or operating for profit
  • Any event not open to the general public
  • Public art projects:
    • Grants cannot be used to finance artwork commissioned by the City of Tracy under its Civic Art Program.
  • Grantees may not receive a grant for more than two consecutive years; if a grantee receives a grant in two consecutive years, they must wait at least one year before re-applying. In collaborative proposals, the “lead” agency will use one of its two years of eligibility for the endowment.
  • Previous awardees must have completed and submitted their project evaluation for any previously funded grant(s). Failure to have submitted a project evaluation will cause the current application to be viewed as incomplete. The award recipient will be ineligible for future grants for two years.
