Council Member Steve Abercrombie

I want to thank the citizens of Tracy for electing me to the City
Council. I am proud to have the opportunity to continuing serving the
citizens of Tracy. My family and I are proud to call it our home. I
particularly love the family-friendly atmosphere we have in Tracy, and I
want to preserve that atmosphere. I have the energy and time to devote
my full attention to the position and work to move Tracy forward.

I know that there are no easy solutions for some of the most difficult
problems our community faces. But I also know that genuine people who
share a deep belief in protecting our community can work together to
forge consensus and make Tracy a better place for all families. My one
promise to you is that I'll roll up my sleeves from day one and work
with you to tackle these problems until we find solutions.

I am convinced that one of the most important roles for local government
is to make sure our schools are providing the highest quality education
possible. Our school districts do a great job. As a City Council
member, I will seek ways for the City to collaborate with the Districts
and assist them with their core mission of the best education possible.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Cal-State
Hayward. Upon my graduation, I was hired by the Hayward Police
Department. I served as a Police Officer for over 19 years.

I am married to Cindy Abercrombie. We are the proud parents of four
children. Our oldest son, Cody, has enlisted in the Air Force. Our
middle children, Kyle and Kayce, attend Delta Charter High School. Our
youngest child, Carly, is a very active two year old.
