Strategic Priorities

The City of Tracy’s City Council adopted four (4) strategic priorities to concentrate on from 2011-2013. The four (4) strategic priorities are:

  1. Economic Development Strategy

  2. Public Safety Strategy

  3. Organizational Efficiency Strategy

  4. Livability Strategy

These four (4) strategic priorities reflect the community’s desire to have a fiscally responsible and efficiently-operated City organization that is committed to maintaining its fiscal health. Additionally, a number of economic development efforts have been the focus of several years, with job creation being at the forefront. This continues to be a priority for the City, including ensuring a positive working relationship with the business community so that the City’s business attraction efforts results in bringing in targeted industries and retailers, like Macy’s, and that healthy businesses’ expansion efforts are realized and that healthy businesses stay in business. As with any City, having a safe community is very important to its residents and public safety continues to be at the forefront.

December 2012 marked the end of this two-year strategic priority plan.  In summary, there were fourteen goals and forty-six objectives identified in the four strategic plans.  The objectives were 89% completed or are in the process of being complete.  The 2011-2013 Summary Report presentation may be viewed here and the Council Agenda item pertaining to the report may be streamed at this link.  In the winter of 2013, the Tracy City Council will convene to develop the 2013-2015 Strategic Priorities Plan.
