Introducing the City of Tracy’s GIS Website

GIS technology incorporates geographical features with data in order to allow for mapping, analyzing and assessing real world problems. The key word to this technology is Geography. As an example, GIS allows you to not only find schools, businesses or other geographical locations, but it will also provide information like school name, level of education taught, or student capacity.

• The Community application provides useful information and tools to see a clearer picture of the city and provide answers to basic queries such as where parks and schools are located, etc.
• The Development application provides tools to help search through city information specifically focused for researching and investigating potential city development activities.
• The Demographics application provides tools to help search through city demographic information.  
• The Crime Map Viewer application provides tools that allow users to see reported crime locations.

System Requirements and Settings

These applications work best in Internet Explorer V8 and Firefox 3.6.10

Please note that these applications require the Microsoft Silverlight application. You may download the Microsoft Silverlight application from Microsoft's website free of charge. If you do not have Microsoft Silverlight installed you will see an icon to click to install it when you try to access any of these applications.

Also note that this site makes use of pop-up windows that may be blocked by some pop-up blocking software. Be sure to turn off pop-up blocking to enable full functionality of Tracy’s GIS web applications.
