Students Ride Free On Tracer Fixed Route Service Now Through August 31, 2011Posted: Aug 15, 2011
August 15, 2011 (TRACY, CA) – In honor of ‘Back to School’ Week, the City of Tracy is offering free rides to students on the TRACER Public Transit System’s Fixed Route Bus between August 15, 2011 and August 31, 2011. Students may ride free from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. There is no service on Sundays.
During the free period, elementary, middle school and high school students can ride any TRACER Fixed Route bus for free simply by presenting their student ID. The free service to students gives Tracy residents an opportunity to experience the ease of using public transportation in Tracy while discovering how comfortable and convenient using the TRACER Public Transit System can be.
The City continuously encourages the Tracy community to familiarize themselves with the TRACER Fixed Route(s): A, B, C, D and E. The Fixed Route service is simple to use, and meets the travel needs of many residents. It is also less costly and environmentally friendly than traveling by car or taxi.
All TRACER buses are ADA accessible.
For the adventure-seeking health-conscious community resident, you can cycle your way throughout the City, and then ride the bus. Bike racks are available on all buses. For more information, visit our website at www.ridetracer.com or call 209-831-4BUS for a brochure and assistance with travel plans.
