Notice of Request for Qualifications
Posted: Jul 12, 2011The FY 2011 – 2012 Cycle IV begins with the release of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking services in six (6) target areas. The 9-month funding cycle begins in September 2011 and ends June 30, 2012. The six target areas are:
- Youth Outreach and Education
- Alternative after-school & evening activities
- Mentoring Services
- Gang Prevention & Intervention Services
- Family or Individual Youth Case Management
- Behavioral Health Services – Prevention and Intervention ONLY
The MCYSN grant program is a yearly matching grant program pending appropriation and approval by the City Council. The allocation plan proposes setting aside $200,000 towards a matching community grants program that can fill identified gaps in service. An additional amount of at least $100,000 is also available through the San Joaquin County, Behavioral Health Services, and Mental Health Services Act.
The MCYSN effort is an innovative, proactive strategy to address youth issues in a holistic way (Prevention, Intervention & Suppression) and from a multi-disciplinary approach that includes City, Police, County agencies, Schools, Community Non-profits, Faith-based organizations, and youth services stakeholders. The MCYSN is aimed at reconnecting youth to their families, schools, and services while expanding opportunities for youth and their families.
