Public Works
The Public Works Department provides maintenance services for streets, trees, traffic control systems, parks, landscape maintenance districts, City buildings, City vehicles, graffiti removal, solid waste, recycling, community facilities, airport, and public transportation. The department also operates and maintains the John Jones Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, water distribution, sewer collection and drainage systems within the City.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Public Works Department is to maintain and operate Tracy’s public facilities and infrastructure in an efficient and cost-effective manner while preserving the health, safety and aesthetics of our community.
Administration
Administrative staff provides leadership and support to all Public Works divisions.
Maintenance and Operations
The Public Works Maintenance and Operations Division provides services for the City’s infrastructure, including streets, trees, sidewalks, parks, City facilities, water, sewer and storm drains.
Utilities
The Utilities Division operates and maintains the John Jones Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the City's water wells. In addition, this division enforces City’s Storm Water Management Program, maintains the City's traffic signals and street lights and provides support for electrical systems maintenance within all City facilities.
